Onething I've always wondered is how reliable, long term, are the modern computerized/electronically controlled 2.0L TDI engines, really.. I know the older 1.9

Usually if the ASV was faulty, you would have an engine management light come up. Once scanned it would tell you it is the throttle body. I had to change my one because of this. The typical fault with these is the throttle body is either jammed open or jammed shut. If jammed shut, the engine won't even start. 23883posts · Joined 2007. #2 · Apr 30, 2012. engine noise could be related to new injectors, I know the piezo PD injectors were having problems but since those cars were never sold in North America I don't know the details of any recall. Major noise/vibration at 1200-1500 rpm (shakes the car). Theysaid they asked him to drive the car because he also had a 2.0 TDI. The fault didnt occur on the drive with the audi guy but he said the turbo sounded a bit off so they replaced the whole turbo under warranty. i think he said it was about £1000 worth of kit plus labour , none of which I was charged for thank god!

I've had this problem for months now but it's only just started to annoy me, at about 1500 to 1600 rpm I get very slightly stutter which happens when cold and warm, it can be noticed in higher gears but is much more noticeable lower down, however it's not violent unless i get it at the right spot in 1st where
