So start with 3.5 Litres and after it settles, top up from there. Exactly, no other way! The quoted capacity is just a starting point, the extra 0.22 litre being quoted/charged for at service time is either just what was needed to take the oil level up to the max level, or a wee sideline for the workshop.
To fix the problem, it is important to regularly check the engine oil level and change the oil according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. The correct type of oil for your vehicle should be specified in the owner’s manual or on the oil filler cap. It is also important to use a high-quality engine oil that meets the appropriate
For a 2005 petrol 1.2 Fabia Classic they recommend: Standard engine oil: 5W-30 synthetic which is suitable for all the latest Volkswagen diesel and gasoline engines requiring VW 504.00 / 507.00 with extended service intervals (WIV) up to 50,000 km or 2 years. Model: 2004 Clio 182FF. Posted 11 October, 2011. Wrong. 505.01 is the minimum required for PD engines, otherwise you're risking future camshaft problems. 505.01, 506.00 or 507.00 are all fine, but don't use 505.00 or anything below. If the Oil in is what was from the factory that is 5w 30 Full Synthetic Long Life VW504 00 not VW 502 00. So top up with VW 504 00 That could be Castrol / Quantum but any oil to VW504 00 will do. The Owners Manual also tells you how much oil it 'May Use' in the first 5,000 km which can be higher than normal.
